Jerry Gracio’s Bagay Tayo

I absolutely adore reading stories on love because being the hopeless romantic that I am, I find myself deeply indulged in these kilig inducing stories. Although I enjoy reading other else’s narratives, the stories have become a little repetitive through time. It’s the same cheesy arguments and infatuations at a glance. However in the three excerpts I read from Bagay Tayo, Jerry Gracio bewitched me into reading more on his cliche lovelife. Maybe it’s because it’s chronologically structured and I would not have to figure out timelines in alternate universes. Perhaps it is also the reason why people ask the question, ‘what’s next?’.

Gracio’s method of storytelling was interesting enough to keep me on my seat. It was light. It felt like I was a friend. This method helped me grasp and understand his stories and descriptions better. From the moment that Pitbull caught his eye to how his relationship with him grew and how Raymond Bernabe Rena became Pitbull. Jerry Gracio’s stories are not too far-fetched that his love life is a fairy tale. It may be a fairy tale for him but, he still made it relatable for the readers.

Despite having only read three excerpts of Jerry Gracia’s Bagay Tayo, I was not looking for more and I was not left with questions. In those three stories I knew a lot about his love for Pitbull and their humble beginnings.
